Is Careerality free?
Yes. Careerality is completely free with no ads, subscriptions, or in-app purchases.
Do I need an account?
No. Careerality works without any account creation or sign-in. Your preferences are stored locally on your device.
Where does the data come from?
All data comes from authoritative public sources: Bureau of Labor Statistics (salary and employment), O*NET (skills and job classifications), NCES/IPEDS (education costs), and the Economic Policy Institute (cost-of-living adjustments). No commercial or sponsored data.
How is cost-of-living adjusted?
We use EPI Family Budget Calculator data to compute state-level cost-of-living indexes. Salaries are adjusted based on where you live, giving you a realistic picture of purchasing power — not just raw dollars.
Why does break-even matter?
Break-even tells you how many years it takes for your career earnings to exceed your education investment. A $100K education with a $60K salary breaks even faster than a $200K education with the same salary. It's the honest ROI number most career advice ignores.
How do I delete my data?
Open the side menu (hamburger icon) and tap "Delete My Data." This permanently removes all your swipe history from our servers. See our privacy policy for details.
Is my data private?
Yes. We collect only your career preferences linked to a random device identifier. We do not collect your name, email, location, contacts, or any personal information. See our privacy policy.
